Friendly personal, outstanding breakfast, clean rooms.

Over heated - ok but lack of decoration

The rooms were clean and provided everything we needed. The staff were super helpful and friendly (esp. Bilal!) and answered all of our questions. Location is good, not too central but close enough that everything touristy is reachable by walk or short tram ride.

Double room was maybe on the smaller side but we didn't spend a tonne of time in the room so not a huge issue. The twin room had a separate toilet but the sink was with the rest of the bathroom which was slightly annoying.

A quiet and well located hotel outside of the crazy bustle of Amsterdam inner city but walking distance to everything.

Prices were very high due to ADE

Location was convenient. Staff were always helpful. Comfy room. We had room 402 which was nice but we had to climb the steepest stairs I've ever seen. Wasn't a big deal but we probably should've been asked at check in if we were ok to do that. Close to so much.

Walls are very thin. We heard our neighbors clearly through the walls. We were so tired though it didnt really bother us.

Not a fan of the pillows with the bed... they were like couch cushions

Bilal on the front desk was great and super helpful. The location is central enough, only a few stops to Damrak and Amsterdam Central on the tram and metro, and also RAI if you have work there. I would recommend taking trams if you can, they seem cheaper and you can just swipe your credit card in and out. Don't make the mistake I made, which was to buy a chip card at the Metro machine which was crazily overpriced just for an empty (reusable) card which you need to top up after 1 hour or 24 hours. I didn't know until my last day at Ibis that the hotel was just next to the Albert Cuyp market which has amazing poofrtjes, herring sandwiches, famous stroopwaffels, cheap cheese, souvenirs, and all sorts!! There are also at least two supermarkets nearby. I spent some 4 hours at the market shopping and eating, before rushing to my booked time slot at the Rijksmuseum just down the road. If you like Indian food or are vegetarian, Ibis is right next to one of the best vegetarian Indian restaurant chains on the planet. I would definitely stay here again if I ever had to return to this country in future.

The only thing is that the shower is super small and I am a petite 5"1 Asian. There were also a few steps at the entrance so take care if you have to carry heavy luggage. The neighbourhood is a bit dark and quiet at night, so if you are a solo female traveller like I was, make sure you know your way or that your data/google maps is always working. Hotels in Amsterdam dont seem to provide bottled water except for the first day so best to bring your own reusable bottle, the tap water is drinkable, so saves your euros on mineral water.

Comfortable bed, efficient use of space. Small, but good bathroom.

Thin walls and occasional noise, but mostly it wasn’t too distracting.

The reception staff were fabulous. We were staying when the bars and restaurants closed because of coronavirus and they were extremely helpful. We would definitely stay again

We liked breakfast, the room was very clean and warm,the staff is very helpful.

The bed was not very comfortable.

Much hot water, friendly staff, hot room, excellent heat and the breakfast was good. Coffee and tea was available and free 24 hours it the room of the reception....

There was not refrigerator in the room, it was not so big the space and the steps in the hotels were very very steeps.

Location. Staff very helpful. Just around the corner from the Albert Cuyp market and not to far from the Vondelpark.

Radiator not working in room so room a but chilly.

Rich breakfast, good location and safe area.

The bed was not that comfortable and the room was too hot. We had to open the window during the night, even though the heat mode was off.
